Resources for BOTH managers and parents
Please review these resources to prepare to assist with practice AND home game operations. Managers should plan ahead by signing up parents to work the scheduled home games and scheduling same-gender locker room monitors for all games and practices.
Game Sheets
Game Sheet is a digital hockey game scoring platform that replaces the traditional paper score sheet. All scores, stats, rosters, and more are uploaded to the Game Sheet cloud platform.
Clock/Scoreboard
Don't fear the clock - it just takes a little practice.
Take a few minutes to watch the tutorial video, and don’t hesitate to head to the rink during a practice to practice operating the clock — it's a perfect "no pressure" way to learn.
Locker Room
A same-gender LOCKER ROOM MONITOR must be present at all times.
Male guardian for boys team and female guardians for girls team must complete SafeSport training and a background check to serve as a Locker Room Monitor. This role is required.
District 15 TEAM MANAGER
Rink Side Buzz
SHARE team updates somewhat regularly throughout the season. While this doesn’t need to happen every week, team managers are encouraged to send updates whenever there is something fun or exciting worth highlighting.
Team highlights help keep AAHA's social media up to date and showcase all of its awesome teams.
Ideas include: tournament updates, weekend recaps, big wins or milestones, highlight reels, behind-the-bench moments, team spirit, and team building activities.
MN Hockey Player Awards
For all travel teams
Zero Award: For a goalkeeper playing a complete game without allowing a goal.
Hat Trick Award: For a player scoring three goals in one game.
Playmaker Award: For a player registering three assists in one game.
Shutout Wall
Let everyone know about goalies who earn a full game shutout during a regular season game or tournament game. Add their shutout to this wall.
