USA Hockey Registration, SafeSport Certification, and Background Screening
Register for USA Hockey. Turn in a copy of the USA Hockey Registration Confirmation to the AAHA Registrar.
Complete SafeSport training.
Background screenings must be completed every other year for all coaches, members of the AAHA Board, locker room monitors, members of Hockey Committee, Age Level Coordinators, Schedulers, Team Managers, and Home Tournament Managers. Please contact the AAHA Registrar to check if previous background screenings are still valid. There is a $30 fee for the screening. Turn in a copy of the receipt to the Registrar for reimbursement.
USA Hockey Background Screening
Background screening is for anyone with close contact and/or authority over minor athletes. Generally, penalty box, clock, GameSheets, and concessions do not require a background screen.
**USA Hockey background screenings are good for two years.
**SafeSport is required every year.
